Tiki Citrus Swizzle

September 6, 2018

It’s Tiki time with my friends at Three Olives Vodka 🍍🍈🔥 We all like to swizzle and this is a tasty drink to keep the summer vibes sparking. A chilly drink with a fiery spirit featuring @threeolivesCitrus Vodka, fruit juice, and ginger zing 💃🏻🕺🏻
=====
Tiki Citrus Swizzle
——-
1.5 oz Citrus Vodka @threeolives
1 oz pineapple juice
.75 oz lime juice
.5 oz ginger liqueur
.5 oz falernum
.25 oz simple syrup
Soda water
Crushed ice
——-
Pour first six ingredients into large glass and fill 2/3 with crushed ice. Stir vigorously, fill glass with more crushed ice and top with soda water. Serve with paper straws or swizzle sticks to "swizzle" as you drink. Come tiki along on the blog for details on Three Olives, falernum and flaming limes 🍈🔥 Special thanks @migsology for fire assistance and the use of his amazing bar 💖

This recipe features the amazing Three Olives Vodka.  I find their flavors delicious and inspirational.  They are dedicated to unique drink experiences and that is aces in my book.  You can find them here:

If you're new to tiki, welcome!  Some may be unfamiliar with falernum; it is an ingredient in many of the great tiki cocktails and is a wonderful addition to any bar.  Most falernum is made with almond, lime, ginger and other spices such as clove and allspice.  You can get it on the cheap at amazon, or I recommend checking around for local craft makers.  Here in Portland we are lucky to have BG Reynolds, and you can find their products here:

Now let's talk about flaming limes.  Don't just pour some 151 proof rum on a lime and strike it with a match :)   Proper flaming limes happen with <drum roll please> a hollowed out half-lime and bread/sugar cubes and lemon extract.  Check out this glorious post by the fab instagrammer @cocktail wonk for details.  And you can always email me with questions or comments.

Happy tiki-ing, friends!
