Here’s a little drank I made for the Alaskan Invasion 2018, when my Alaskan friends visited Portland recently. It was about 95 degrees and I thought the Alaskans might melt into a little glacier puddle. I made a little fizzle/swizzle/fashizzle to cool them off.
4-5 basil leaves
Approximately 1/2 cup chunked fresh pineapple
2 oz tequila (I used anejo)
.75 oz fresh lime juice
.5 oz simple syrup
DRY sparkling vanilla bean soda @drysoda
Muddle basil and fresh pineapple; add tequila, lime, simple syrup. I was live batching (is that a thing?) this drink so I just shook a bunch of these up in a big pitcher. Overfill glasses with ice, pour over, top with vanilla bean soda. Stir swizzle swizzle as you drink it. The DRY sodas are faves - they really make some fantastic tasting drinks. Chilly cheers to AK from the Lower 48! 🍍❄️💚
