A Cocktail for my Reluctantly Gaudy Friends

May 4, 2018

I’ve already talked about my sparkle obsession so let’s not judge too much. My great friends found these amazing glasses at an antiques show and pondered whether they were too tacky for their own home bar. Lucky for ME they deemed them too gaudy for their own use but decided that I was JUST THE RIGHT LEVEL OF TACKY to accept this momentous gift 😃. So I thought why not add more glitter to an already uncomfortably glittery situation? I invited them over and made them this lil’ drink to show my appreciation:
House Party Cocktail for My Reluctantly Gaudy Friends
2 oz Del Maguey mezcal
.5 oz Ancho Reyes Chile liqueur
1 oz pineapple sage shrub

.5 oz fresh lime juice
.5 oz sage simple syrup.
Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into glasses or lovely decanters. Do a “raise the roof” motion to indicate how awesome your friends are 😍 Thanks, friends!
