My wondrous Instagram friend and muse @sip.ponder.repeat recently posted a fantastic cocktail she created with sesame oil fat-washed baijiu and I knew I had to steal (AKA PAY TRIBUTE) to her idea. Since I am currently baijiu-less, I thought I’d try something with a fantastic single malt scotch I had on hand. I was going for something smooth, dark, nutty, and rich, with a bit of a burn.
2 oz #highlandparkofficial Dark Origins single malt scotch
1 oz sesame oil
.75 oz nocino @sidetrack distillery .75 oz ginger liqueur
3 dashes chocolate bitters @scrappysbitters
Toasted sesame seeds
Mix scotch & sesame oil and freeze over night. Strain through cheesecloth/sieve into cocktail shaker. Add nocino, ginger liqueur, and bitters. Dry shake. Pour over large ice cube and top with toasted sesame seeds. Put your face in that aroma, enjoy.
